Participants must return to the bus by 4:00 p.m. for the ride back to Signal Hill. Lunch is not included. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

Celebrate the Flavors of Spring at Knott’s Berry Farm! Join us for a delightful day at Knott’s famous Boysenberry Festival, where the park comes alive with the sweet tastes and scents of spring. Indulge in boysenberry - inspired foods, drinks, and treats found throughout the park. Enjoy strolling through artisan booths, live entertainment and seasonal activities the celebrate Knott’s rich history and charm.

Experience a Day of Fun at the LA County Fair! Enjoy a full day at the LA County Fair, where classic fair traditions meet exciting new attractions. Wander through rows of food vendors offering a diverse range of treats, from classic funnel cakes to innovative culinary creations. Explore unique exhibits, lively entertainment, and endless shopping opportunities. With something for everyone, this outing is the perfect way to celebrate everything the fair has to offer. 

Participants must return to the bus by 3:00 p.m. for the ride back to Signal Hill. Lunch is not included. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes and sunblock.

If an excursion is sold out, be sure to call Parks, Recreation & Library Services at 562-989-7330 and put your name on the waitlist. Please do not show up on the day of the excursion unless you have been instructed to do so.

Guests who are already signed up and can no longer attend should notify Parks, Library & Services as soon as possible to allow people on the waitlist to be called. Guests who can no longer attend are not able to choose who will replace them on the excursion. Those on the waitlist will be given priority.

Excursion Information

Resident registration begins the first Monday of each month at 8:00 a.m.  Non-resident registration begins the second Monday of each month at 8:00 a.m.  If City offices are closed on the first or second Monday of the month, registration will begin the following day.  Registration will be taken in-person and online.  No registrations will be accepted via phone.

Trips must be paid in full at the time of registration.  Individuals may sign up for themselves plus one additional person.  No telephone reservations will be accepted.  Payments can be made:

Registration is non-transferable.  Individuals who can no longer attend must notify the Community Services Department as soon as possible so that individuals in the waitlist may be called.

Waitlist: Trips that fill up will have a waitlist and will be contacted in numerical order.  Do not come in to pay for the excursion unless you are contacted by Parks, Recreation & Library Services staff and told a spot is available for you.  Waitlisted individuals who show up on the day of the excursion and are not registered will not be allowed to board the bus.

Parking: Parking for excursions is available in the lot next to the Library, in front of the basketball courts, on the south side of Hill Street.

Departure: Please arrive in front of the Signal Hill Public Library, 30 minutes prior to departure time. Departure and return times may be adjusted due to circumstances beyond our control.

Seating Priority & Special Requests: Seating is based on a priority system: residents and persons with limited mobility; non-residents based on when payment is received.  When registering, please notify us if you need any special accommodation or utilize a mobility aid, such as a wheelchair, care, etc.

Excursion Cancellation Policy: To receive a refund on any excursion you must contact Parks, Recreation & Library Services at least ten business days prior to the excursion. An administrative fee of $5 will be charged on ALL cancellations. If cancellation is made less than ten business days prior, no refunds or credits are issued. Because we are required to repay for the excursions, we are unable to provide a credit or refund for a cancellation within 10 business days of an excursion.  Last minute cancellations must have a doctor's note to receive any refund.

Illness on Trips: If you are feeling ill please notify the escort immediately. Please do not leave the group without notifying the escort. A travelling kit is essential, though what you choose to put in it depends on your own individual needs. Please be advised city staff cannot dispense any medications.
